Vancouver’s most talented and beautiful artists are gathering for a night of Soul, HipHop and Old School at The Kozmik Zoo.

Originally from Santiago, Chile, with a stint in Squamish, Valentina currently resides in Burnaby, B.C. where she works tirelessly on her vocals that blow the roof off every single venue she plays in the city. A trained musician with a passion for soul, Valentina works her piano, tambourine and loop pedal (in a pair of 5 inch heels no less) to deliver a set of originals that has your heart aching for more and your feet dancing through all her upbeat soul/R&B covers. This fierce female brings vocals that are unbeknownst to any other act out of Vancouver and beyond so be sure to check out one of her shows if you feel the need to catch the next big thing! Currently working on her upcoming EP, Valentina will be everywhere soon so come catch her in her early stages to say you were there when it all began.

Johny Stone: Old School HipHop , Soul Funk, House : The man in charge of your grooves, Johny has been spinning in Vancouver for many years, his specialty is infectious beats of Old School, Hip Hop, Soul and anything tasteful in that genre.
For each event we choose a music album and get a cover band to learn all the songs. Poets are then assigned a song from whatever album we are doing to create a new piece of work for the show.The performance includes the band playing the songs with the poets reading their poems in response to the songs in between the songs.
